Sports field line marking

Seasonal line marking contracts in Brisbane and SEQ

If you're chasing a line marker every week, paying a different amount each time and still finding faded lines on game day, a seasonal contract sorts it out. We set your fields out before the season, re-mark them weekly or fortnightly around your fixtures, and cost the whole season up front.

One-off bookings make for a long season

From trials to finals, a winter season runs five or six months, often across several fields. Booking each re-mark separately leaves someone at the club, school or council ringing around every week, and the field pays for it when a visit gets missed.

  • Lines have faded by Saturday because they went down too early or got mown off
  • Re-marks miss last week's lines, leaving ghost lines across the field
  • Every visit brings a different invoice, so the budget is hard to forecast
  • Finals, gala days and carnivals get organised at the last minute
  • Nobody looks at the surface until the goal mouths are bare and the centre is rock hard

Setting next season's budget?

Tell us your fields, codes and fixture dates. We'll put together a season schedule with the cost laid out up front, ready for your budget submission or committee meeting.

What a contract covers

The whole season, planned in one go

A seasonal contract follows your fields from the first training run to the end-of-season handover, with every visit agreed before it starts.

Pre-season set-out

A full set-out of every field before training and trials, measured to your code's dimensions with our GPS line marker, for rectangular football fields and AFL and cricket ovals alike.

Weekly or fortnightly re-marks

Re-marks timed around your fixtures and your mowing, so the lines go down after the cut and are fresh for game day. Weekly suits match fields in warm weather. Fortnightly often holds on training fields, and through mid-winter when couch is growing slowly.

Finals, events and carnivals

Extra marks for finals, gala days and school athletics carnivals are agreed and priced at the start, so they're in the schedule rather than a scramble the week before.

End-of-season changeover

When your season wraps up, the ground gets handed over to the next code, whether that's cricket circles on an oval or summer layouts on a rectangle, with the new lines planned around the old ones.

Because the GPS marker puts each field back in the same position at every visit, re-marks go down on the existing lines rather than drifting a little further each week.

Combined with field management

Marking and field care in the same visit

We're a turf business first. When the crew is on site to re-mark, they're also looking at the grass, so small problems get caught early. Many contracts combine marking with our sports field maintenance work:

  • Clegg hammer readings before and during the season, written up in a report
  • Wear checks in the goal mouths, the centre and along the touchlines
  • Aeration and top dressing booked into bye weeks and the off-season
  • Fertilising and weed control timed around fixtures, not on top of them

One crew, one schedule and one point of contact. Our turf management programs page explains the year-round side, and our guide to sports field and school oval maintenance covers what a year of field care involves.

Price and why us

Costed up front, so the budget holds

How the price is worked out

Line marking jobs start from $220, and a season's price is built from:

  • the number of fields and codes
  • set-outs, and how often each field is re-marked
  • extra marks for finals and events
  • the distance from Beenleigh
  • any field management visits you include

After the free onsite check you get the schedule and the cost per visit and for the season, laid out up front. Tell us when your budget is set and we'll have the season costed in time for it. Anything extra mid-season is priced before we do it.

Why All Grass Solutions

  • We walk the fields first, then put the schedule and price together
  • Our own crew, our own GPS line marker and our own turf machinery
  • We explain what's happening with the surface, not just the lines
  • Family-run, based in Beenleigh, covering fields up to 400 km away
  • Honest about capacity: we'd rather book a schedule we can keep than overcommit in the peak weeks
How it works

How a seasonal contract starts

  1. Free onsite check

We walk each field with you, measure up, look at the surface and go through your fixtures, codes and budget timing.

  2. Season plan and price

You get the marking schedule, any field visits worth adding and the cost for the season, laid out up front. Jobs start from $220.

  3. Through the season

Our crew sets the fields out before the season, re-marks on schedule and tells you about anything on the surface that needs attention.

Common questions

How much does a seasonal line marking contract cost?
Jobs start from $220. A season's price depends on how many fields and codes you have, how often each field is re-marked, any extra marks for finals or carnivals, how far the ground is from Beenleigh and whether field management visits are included. After the free onsite check you get the schedule and the cost laid out up front, per visit and for the season.
Do we need weekly or fortnightly re-marks?
Match fields with weekend fixtures in the warmer months usually need weekly re-marks, because couch grows quickly and every mow takes some paint off. Through the middle of winter growth slows and fortnightly often holds up, particularly on training fields. We set the schedule around your fixture list and mowing, and adjust it if the season turns unusually wet or warm.
When should we sort out next season's contract?
Before your budget is locked in. For winter codes, talk to us by January so the pre-season set-out is booked for February or March, which is the busiest time of year for line marking. Councils and schools often set budgets well before that, so earlier is better. For summer cricket on an oval, mid-winter is a good time to plan.
Can you combine line marking with other field maintenance?
Yes, and it's often the most cost-effective way to do it. While the crew is on site to re-mark, we can take Clegg hammer readings, check wear in goal mouths and the centre, and plan aeration, top dressing or fertilising for bye weeks and the off-season. You get one schedule and one point of contact. More on sports field maintenance.
What happens if it rains on a marking day?
Paint needs time to dry, so we don't mark into heavy rain or onto a waterlogged field, because the line would wash out before the game. If the forecast turns, we move the visit as close to the fixture as we can and let you know. Contract fields are already in the schedule, so a wet week doesn't mean starting the booking again.
Do you provide reports for councils and schools?
Where a contract includes surface hardness testing, you get a written report with the Clegg hammer readings across the field and the work we recommend. That gives facilities managers a record of the field's condition through the season, which helps with budget submissions, risk management and planning renovation work. About Clegg hammer testing.
